I saw this on the Blog of Unnecessary Quotation Marks. Commentary on secularization? Separation of Church and State? A refusal to speak the name of the Most Hight? I'm also curious what the ellipsis does to the meaning of the phrase.
If the modern era has shown us anything, it is that our vision of the world is limited and perspectival. No one has the view from nowhere. But my conviction is that the "light of the knowledge of the glory of God, seen in the face of Christ" illuminates our individual vision. This is an attempt to see the world in that light.
